In 2025 FoxSports became the exclusive broadcaster for IndyCar racing, bringing the sport to a whole new audience and elevating racing culture across the sports ecosystem.
Early in the process, Fox Sports tapped into BlackBox Infinite to get the most out of advances in technology, telemetry, and motorsports culture.
01.The Ultimate Data-Driven Sport
Telemetry-driven timing & scoring data isn’t a bonus feature within the IndyCar broadcast, but instead a critical lens for understanding the fundamental components of the sport, competition, and the stories unfolding on track.
Whether magically integrated AR overlays, micro timing widgets, or a scoring pylon that consumes ⅓ of the broadcast resolution, these visualizations aren’t a finishing-touch to a broadcast, but an integral feature of the sport as an entertainment product at large.
It’s not “Broadcast Graphics”, it’s a digital layer of the entertainment product itself— something built to enhance the experience and pull viewers deeper into the sport.

Throughout an IndyCar race, there are several real-time visualizations composited into live footage, bringing data & insights closer to the visible action than ever before.
These include the in-car HUD (Heads Up Display), driver trackers, pointers, and more.

04.Race Control, Visualized
IndyCar is governed by flags, and we treated the Flag Status System as its own mini-design language. Throughout every race of the season, this system is a critical feature showing the governance of the race, and the strategic opportunities available to the competitors on-track.
